  • Lead Substitute

    Montessori School of Evergreen (MSE) is a 140+ student day school serving Toddler through Eighth Grade. MSE is dedicated to its mission of inspiring a lifelong love of learning in each student through meaningful, dynamic, and innovative experiences. MSE is fully accredited by both the American

    Montessori Society and the Association of Colorado Independent Schools.


    MSE is seeking individuals to join our Substitute list to be reached out to assist in the classrooms or Front Office on an as-needed basis. This position will also assist with cleaning responsibilities in the

    classroom during the day.


    Substitute teacher positions are for candidates eager to participate in and learn through the development of a progressive academic program. The substitute teacher position will help support classroom learning and school culture on an as needed basis in whatever classroom there is a need each day. Potential opportunity to work on curriculum materials and supporting students based on

    experience.


    Job Qualifications:

    • Willingness to take direction from the Lead Teacher of each classroom
    • Experience in early childhood and/or elementary classrooms preferred
    • Creative spirit
    • Collaborative mindset; adept at working with teams and open to new ideas
    • Adaptability
    • High School diploma or equivalent, required
    • Early childhood and/or elementary coursework preferred
    • Understand and utilize positive reinforcement and natural consequences

    Job Specifications:

    •  Compensation starts at $15 per hour and this position is non-exempt
    • Direct classroom work with children ages toddler through third grade
    • Work collaboratively with lead teacher in all aspects of classroom life or responsible for general office duties depending on need
    • Recess and gross motor play supervision
    • Support and model positive discipline
    • School Hours: 8:30am-3:15pm

    Job Requirements:

    • Physical strength to independently lift 10-15 lbs
    • Fluency in written and oral English language.
    • Ability to oversee and ensure the safety of children in and out of the classroom
    • Background checks
